WASHINGTON, D.C. --
The Federal Election Commission has formally ended the investigation into the
Jim Schneller for Congress 3d quarter 2010 committee report, which was based on
a complaint by the G.O.P..
In a brief statement and report served on the candidate, the
Federal Election Commission states that it has "closed it's file in this
matter" because "there is no reason to believe Friends of Jim
Schneller for Congress Committee and you in your individual and official capacity
as treasurer, violated the Federal Election Commission Act of 1971, as amended,
and Commission regulations. "
Says the candidate: " I remain the
only viable candidate for this office. The G.O.P. effort to drive home a
stinger message, by way of an election week complaint to the F.E.C., was
appropriately claimed by us to be wrongly initiated, and is now part of our
court case against the Meehan campaign, the Delco G.O.P., and certain tea
parties, for endeavoring to wrongly mislead the public for the duration of the
2010 campaign, well outside the bounds of acceptable campaign strategy."
The Federal Election Commission expects the full report to be
public record on January 3, 2012.
Jim Schneller announced yesterday his return, and new candidacy,
in the 2012 race for the 7th Congressional District.
