To the Board of Directors and the President of the
Delaware County Chamber of Commerce
I am writing to lodge a formal protest, and to request, again,
permission to participate in tonights meet-the-candidates event in Upper
Darby.
I urgently request that the President and staff forward this email to the
Board of Directors. I ask the same if possible, to the membership, for
their participation.
The Chamber has suddenly retracted permission to me to participate, upon
returning a telephone call to me around noon today.
I claim 1) lack of decency in failing to even inform me or
my campaign,
2) alarming partiality. Omission of me is unfair to me and to the
public. I am a candidate who is in the running, and no candidate should
ever be omitted. Fair election is the American Way. 3d) failure of
duty. Omission of me is obstructing to the public and to your
members, because it is omission of a pro-business candidate, who is
likely the most pro-business candidate, and this is the knowledge of the
business community.
These reasons clearly point to bias and unbusinesslike
agendas in the decision making process. Unfairness shouldn't be an
objective of our Chamber of Commerce's efforts at election-time public
awareness ! I requested the staff member I spoke with to change
their decision to no avail, and he stated that the President would not
change his mind if requested.
Please I ask you, amend your decision and allow
an open forum. We who live at the birthplace of liberty especially, must
have sensitivity about living up to the Country's foundational tenets.
You have a responsibility to act impartially for your members and for the
buying public.
Sincerely,
James D. "Jim" Schneller
Candidate
